While reality and facts were not given to making promises, they were at the same time also disagreeable and dull and no match for the power of dreams.

Hey Suzanne,
I think it was Studs Turkel in his book Work where I read about someone who restored old books who had the highest job satisfaction of anyone he interviewed for the book. If you get half the good vibes from your job as that person did, then you are truly blessed :-)

I don't know if you know, but I work in tech services in a library. Spend a lot of time, processing books for circulation, and doing book repair. (I KNOW how altered books can be!)
I got to enjoy this book on tape, while I worked, and Poitier read it. This was definitely one of my favorite books of the season.
