Loftbed - The Musical, Part I The great adventure has begun. It involves power tools and measuring and busting old stories out the wazoo. I am building a loft bed with the help of a friend who has the necessary skills and tools and is willing to show me the way through the wilderness. This cargo of lumber is now cut to size and patiently waiting for drilling and staining, Power tools are a fascinating thing. They work really well when used in the proper manner and with healthy respect for safety, but somehow this saw blade just wasn't into it...... This array of clouds kept me company on the way to work this morning while gawker delay kept the pace to a minimum for the first 30 minutes. I didn't even mind....

is it of value This quote - "The only way that you can ever know if something is of value to you is by the way it feels as you are receiving it" - from Abraham-Hicks is something of a touchstone for me lately, especially as a reminder of what negative self-talk is all about. As those thoughts are registering on my brain, and it feels like crap, I look at the printed version of the quote, and they are immediately framed as having no value to me. I want them to back from whence they came, but having gotten onto my radar, they are warned about not being welcome, and there is no space made for them at the inn. Doesn't mean the feelings don't linger a bit and cause a bit of choppy sailing, but they are transparent now, and I can observe them rather than feel like I've received a blow to the stomach from out of the blue. Those thoughts, those feelings, they aren't true. They aren't true.
