make it up

How hard is it to make stuff up? she said. Not hard at all, I said. The real trick is knowing to stop before you get confused.

Um, excuse me, but most of what I experience in the world has been made up by someone else, so why not live in a world of your own design that makes sense to you?

How much worse could it be than bathing in what our culture would have us believe is good for you? Most of us need to reinvent ourselves each morning to stave off the influences we'd rather not live our lives by, so making things up sounds like thriving to me.

grab that tusk A very nice man called recently excited that a new job position was just coming into fruition. An opening that had never existed before was now being offered and it had new job specifications. And as he viewed it he was delighted to see that it matched everything that was his idea of the perfect job to have. And yet he could not accept, because he is still playing the game of being too humble and timid to accept his own power of creation, he could not accept that that job was literally a product of his own creation. That the balance of thoughts, speculation and ideas that he had been offering over a period of time had literally resulted in somebody else within the structure of the organization bringing into fruition, this. ************* Dude, grab that tusk and ride the ride! This is exactly what happened to me a year ago. I had been working in a company for six years and during that time had looked around within it for more aligned work. Suddenly in the weekly job listings we received from HR, there it was - my dream position! At first I thought it was too good to be true as well. I even said, no thanks at a certain point in the process. But just like a similiar situation years before where I had said no thanks, several casting directors got together and made their dreams come true, which included my eventually saying Yes! to this opportunity. Vision is intertwined with other people. Expect it, and hang on for the ride!

blue ************ This fabric jumped out at me from the discounted section at Joann's and I had to buy some of it. The color is one that came to me in my first visual journaling exercise, and now apparently it's following me around to make sure I don't forget about it. No problem.
